How it works
A single call gets your basement in front of a waterproofing company that already works in your part of Chemung County.
You call or send a request
Say where you live and describe the problem in your own words: a puddle along one wall, a crack that drips, a pump that won't shut off, paint peeling off damp block, or a smell you can't air out.
We connect you with a local company
We pass your call or request to an independent waterproofing company that covers Elmira and the surrounding towns.
The company handles the job
They quote, schedule and do the work. Pricing, warranties and terms come from them directly.
What we are and aren't
Elmira Basement Waterproofing is a referral service, not a contractor. We don't send crews or employ technicians, and we don't set prices. Using the site is free for homeowners.
There's no New York State license for home improvement contractors, and the local licensing programs that do exist are mostly in New York City and downstate counties, so check with your own city, town or village. Statewide, General Business Law Article 36-A covers you: any home improvement job priced over $500 needs a written contract signed by both sides, spelling out the work, materials, price and approximate dates, and you have until midnight of the third business day after signing to cancel in writing. The City of Elmira advises homeowners to get copies of a contractor's liability, workers' compensation and disability insurance certificates and to collect at least three estimates, noting that the lowest isn't always the best. Settle who's pulling the building permit before work starts; the city says that's typically the contractor.
